It became known that a parrot prevented the launch of the first space rocket in Australia, which was scheduled for May 15.
Earlier it was reported that the launch of the rocket Eris company Gilmour Space Technologies was canceled due to malfunctions in the ground support system.
The re-launch was planned for the next day, but new problems with electronics led to premature opening of the rocket’s nose fairing.
After an equipment inspection, experts noticed damage on one of the ground systems caused by the beak of a large bird.
The company released a photo of a cockatoo enthusiastically pecking at electrical wires in the rocket.
“We do not claim that this is the main cause of our problems, but we do not rule out this version,” a company spokesman told the publication.
The test flight should be the first successful launch into orbit of a rocket built entirely in Australia.
“While we are disappointed by the delay, we are already working to resolve the issue and expect to be back on the launch pad soon,” Gilmour Space CEO Adam Gilmour said.
