A mysterious anomaly has been spotted in the skies over Washington, sparking a flurry of discussion and a wave of theories ranging from alien intervention to government weather control.
In the center of attention was an unusual radar signal, similar to a ball or a band, that swept over the U.S. capital at the time of a strong thunderstorm. This is reported by the publication Unilad.
The anomaly was first noticed by Kari Lake, special advisor to the U.S. Agency for Global Media.
She published in social networks a fragment of a radar loop with a green arrow flying over the city and asked her followers, “What is it?”.
Meteorologist Matthew Cappuci denied sensationalizing the story, explaining, “It could involve reflecting part of the radar beam emitted back to the radar, causing a false signal.”
He added that such signals are often caused by infrastructural objects – communication towers or water towers.
He said radars sometimes even pick up birds or airplanes, which is quite common.
Despite the scientific explanation, not everyone accepted it.
One user sarcastically remarked, “Sounds like something a meteorologist would say… if he were a CIA agent!!!!”
VIDEO. Matthew Cappuci disproves all the theories.
Earlier, it was reported about a mysterious UFO that was spotted over the airport in Britain.
Eyewitnesses recorded an unidentified silver object the size of a car, which smoothly floated in the air.
