The first military parade in 30 years was held in Washington, DC: the 250th anniversary of the US Army and coincidentally Donald Trump’s birthday.
A military parade dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the US Army was held in the US capital. This is the first such event in the country in more than 30 years.
The parade coincidentally coincided with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, although officially the authorities denied any connection of the celebrations with his birthday.
Among the guests were Donald Trump and first lady Melania, Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife Usha, Defense Secretary Pete Gegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other officials.
Dozens of tanks and combat vehicles marched through the streets of Washington, and seven thousand servicemen took part in the parade.
There were presented samples of equipment symbolizing different stages of development of the American army – from the First World War to modern models.
Meanwhile, protests against President Donald Trump’s policies were held in a number of US cities.
A shooting at a protest in the US is also reported. One person is seriously injured, three suspects were detained after the incident.
The incident happened in Salt Lake City during the No Kings protest. One person was seriously injured as a result of the shooting.
