A man attacked football fans and police in Hamburg
An unidentified man attacked police officers and fans in Hamburg, Germany, before the Euro 2024 football match between Poland and the Netherlands.
At the time of the attack, the man was carrying a steel pickaxe and a Molotov cocktail bottle.
The police used pepper spray and firearms to neutralize the attacker.
Law enforcers fired several warning shots and then shot the man in the leg.
The attacker was reportedly taken to hospital, and police began investigating the incident.
As you know, the European Football Championship has started in Germany: the matches will be held from 14 June to 14 July.
According to bookmakers’ forecasts, the victory in Euro-2024 will be given to the England national team, ahead of the 2022 World Cup finalist France and the host of the tournament in Germany.
Euro 2024 will feature a total of 51 matches in 10 German cities.
Among them: Cologne, Dortmund, Munich, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Gelsenkirchen and Düsseldorf. The final of the tournament will be held in Berlin.
