A giant solar power plant on Shanxi Mountain

On top of a mountain in Shanxi Province, China, sits one of the most impressive solar power plants in the world.

This huge installation is 80 kilometers long and covers more than 4,290 hectares, the equivalent of more than 6,000 football fields.

It has an installed capacity of 2 GW. This is enough to power approximately 1.5 million homes.

What makes the project unique is its strategic placement on a mountain.

This maximizes the use of solar energy and serves as a model for future environmentally friendly solutions.
