It has become known that a 116-year-old nun from Brazil has been recognized as the oldest person in the world.
After the recent death of Japanese Tomiko Itooka, who passed away at the age of 116, the title of the oldest person on the planet passed to her peer from Brazil – Inah Canabarro Lucas.
This fact is officially confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records, according to which the woman’s age at the time of recognition was 116 years and 210 days.
Inah Canabarro Lucas was born on June 8, 1908, in the small town of Sao Francisco de Assis in Brazil.
Since childhood, she has been in fragile health, which has caused concerns about her life expectancy (as we can see, useless).
As a teenager, Inna was educated at a boarding school, and then moved to Uruguay, where at 16 she became a nun.
She worked as a teacher of Portuguese and mathematics in Rio de Janeiro and other cities of the country.
In 1980, her path led her to Port Alegre, where she continued her ministry.
In 2018, when Inah turned 110 years old, she received an apostolic blessing from Pope Francis.
Records and uniqueness
Inah Canabarro Lucas is recognized as the oldest nun on the planet.
Moreover, she became the second oldest nun in history after Lucile Rendon of France, who died at the age of 118.
Inach is said to be the last person born in 1908, and also one of only three born in the 1900s.
